The Afghanistan team has shown their progress and mastery in this World Cup, which has helped them reach the Super Eight stage. Their bowling and batting have shown a beautiful balance and they are ready to prove their worth again.
Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz has shown his strength and power in World T20 cricket. His exhibition talent got him good results in the initial matches of the tournament, where he made important contributions against Uganda and New Zealand.
But, his batting has not been good in the last few matches, due to which huge expectations were raised on him personally.

Now that the tournament has reached the Super Eight stage, there is more pressure on Gurbaz. He needs to perform well against India in his next match, which will be an important test for him.
Gurbaz said that he has been prepared a lot and he is ready to showcase all his abilities against the Indian bowlers.
Speaking to ICC, Gurbaz said:
“Honestly, my target is not just Jasprit Bumrah. I will target all the (Indian) bowlers. There are five bowlers who usually bowl and I have to deal with them. It is just a battle against Bumrah. Maybe another bowler can get me out. But yes, if I get a chance to hit him (Bumrah), I am ready for it. It can be Bumrah, Arshdeep or Siraj. If anyone bowls in my area, I will hit them. Either I will hit them or get out.”
Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott also praised his batting and expressed hope for his next match. Trott said, “Gurbaz has performed well in the World Cup so far and we are expecting a big response from him in the next match as well.”
“As you see in the IPL, a lot of our players have been playing T20 cricket around the world and now it’s about getting them together as a team. I think in the past we’ve had some good individual players, but we need all those players to play together as a team and we’ve seen that many times in the group stage. So it’s really exciting going into tomorrow’s game and you’re here at a fantastic ground like Barbados, which is well prepared against a team like India. That’s an added bonus.”
