Suryakumar Yadav’s childhood coach Ashok Aswalkar has given important advice against Australia in the World Cup 2024.
Australia are coming into this match after losing to Afghanistan, which Aswalkar described as a strange situation.
Aswalkar told ANI, “Our openers are slowly starting to gain rhythm. If they can improve their game in the match against Australia, then nothing can be better than this for India. Try to play normal cricket, don’t experiment too much. They have to play the same way as they did in the last five to six matches. They have to play a normal game against the Australian bowling lineup.”

Also praising Indian team bowler Jasprit Bumrah, Aswalkar said, “Bumrah is in great form in the World Cup. He has taken 10 wickets in just five matches. We have faith in his support and strong bowling lineup.”
Aswalkar advised Suryakumar and Rishabh Pant
Aswalkar also expressed his views against batsman Suryakumar Yadav and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
He said, “He needs some time. He has hitting power and India has to use it somewhere. Rishabh Pant is playing the wrong shots and losing his wicket. Suryakumar, Rishabh and all are performing well. I advise the wicketkeeper-batsman not to play just reverse shots. I want Suryakumar to play without any pressure.”
Meanwhile, Afghanistan has registered its first win in the match between Australia and Afghanistan.
Aswalkar said, “Afghanistan’s bowling can be a big challenge in the World Cup. We have to be cautious about the variations of their bowlers.”
He further said, “Underdogs always think about winning matches against big teams. Afghanistan has the best bowlers for variety. Afghanistan’s bowling can beat any team in the World Cup, do not underestimate them in future matches. Australia has a long batting line-up, but it was Afghanistan’s day and they won the match.”
